Alpine sport and style - St Moritz Snow Polo World Cup Jan 2023

Dear readers, when I flipped the calendar to the page of December, the images in my head was the white winter snow and Christmas, although it doesn’t snow in the city I live, but all I am yearning for is a white cold festive season, and inherently, it also reminds me of the once-a-year Snow Polo tournament which took place in St. Moritz Switzerland!

As the 38th edition of this iconic game, the Snow Polo World Cup will be held from 27th to 29th January 2023, elite players from around the world will once again gather in this very spot, to compete for year 2023’s tournament with their breathtaking performance and style! Besides the existing teams which participated previously including Azerbaijan Land of Fire, World Polo League, Clinique La Prairie, and St. Moritz, the tournament welcomes the new team, The Kusnacht Practice, which will be led by Captain Eduardo Greghi, with new teammates included Charlie Hanbury, Nicolas San Roman and Alejo Taranco. US polo player Marc Ganzi is also returning to the tournament, this time as captain of Team Clinique La Prairie, He is joining forces with Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz regular, Nic Roldan, and Fred Mannix, Canada's best and foremost polo player.

Expectations are equally high for USA player Melissa Ganzi's Team World Polo League. The experienced team captain, who in 2019 was the first female captain ever to win the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz trophy, She will play alongside with her son Grant, and her trusted pillar of strength, Alejandro Novillo Astrada.

Besides the exciting matches that you’ll expect to see by then, the Snow Polo World Cup never fail to offer some Alpine chic and style to their visitors, with the Badrutt's Palace, the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, the Kempinski Grand Hôtel des Bains, the Carlton Hotel, the Suvretta House, the Giardino Mountain, and the Grace La Margna, all five-star hotels are renewing their commitment alongside with Maura Wasescha, Trois Pommes and Sprüngli. For those who are gourmet connoisseurs, the sumptuous catering in the VIP tent will once again carry the signature of the Badrutt's Palace Hotel chefs.

While going on a shopping spree for Christmas, you might consider to get one more extra present for yourself – to be part of the crowd in the upcoming tournament, and unwrap it in St. Moritz to celebrate the new start of the year, with some Alpine style and aristocratic sports spirit.
