To me, the most appealing part of the hotel is their boutique; as mentioned at the beginning that it’s related to high fashion, not only one can find the uniquely curated creations from home accessories to ceramics, jewellery and books that are made by local artisans, El Fenn has teamed up with the Italian fashion legend, Romeo Gigli, to showcase his first collection for the hotel in over a decade, the collection consists of a variety of clothing items from kaftans to jackets, shawls and dresses which reminiscent to his typical 1990s aesthetic.

I have been a big fan of Romeo’s work during my youth and my early high fashion career, having been worked in his second line, G. Gigli, before, this news about his comeback to luxury fashion makes me even happier, only this time with more of a luxury exotic resort feel to it. For the menswear of Romeo Gigli (I mean back in the time that it’s designed by the designer himself), his famous feature is the drop-shoulder ‘A’ line silhouette with a bit of relaxed and elegant feel, matching with a pair of cigarette legged trousers; his signature use of exotic and ethnic color palette from earthy, rustic to vivid hues, luxurious fabrics such as velvet, silk and crispy cotton, mixes with his imaginative pattern that looks like hand-drawn art and embroidery work, sometimes in stripes as well, which makes his design exceptionally uniquely byzantine and beautiful, and being called as a Renaissance man of Italian fashion with much opulence, elegance and romance injected into his design and creation.
