Majestic festive style - Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte “Molière’s World” Christmas Celebration 2022



Dear readers, did you all feel the festive Christmas flair already? I definitely feel that for sure when I was doing some Christmas decoration shopping recently, think about dress up with your dashing and luxurious velvet jacket, with a black bowtie and the polished bib front tuxedo shirt, solid black trouser and your embroidered black velvet slippers, sipping the fragrant hot mulled wine by the fire place with the greenery smell from the green pine needle garland, decorated with the sumptuous and delicate handmade Christmas decoration and sparkling lights, that’s the kind of Christmas scenario I had in my head, in particular this year. Indeed, Christmas and style goes hand in hand, how could one experience a magical and memorable Christmas in a special venue while dressed up in the best version of yourself? Then I guess spending your Christmas in the spectacular French castle, Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte will possibly be the wonderful choice of this year!




Celebrate the 400th anniversary of the greatest late French playwright and writer, Molière, this year the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte has transformed their spectacular castle into the Palace of Art, with the playwright at the heart to mark their 17th edition of Vaux-le-Vicomte to celebrate the Christmas and festive season. The program starts with the Carriage museum, which will transport you into the playwright’s world with staging of costumes, sets and automatons. But how can festive occasion can do without Christmas trees? Of course, the grand estate has got this covered! One can find them in the chateau’s State rooms, where you will plunge into the famous Molière inspirations.




To me, throwing a fully enjoyable festive Christmas soirée, a sumptuously prepared gourmet is unquestionably essential, for this, you can able to experience a gourmet surprise in the Games parlor, where the 70cm high Molière’s giant bust made with chocolate, will be erected there, the chocolate art piece is created by Jean Luc Decluzeau, the famous chocolate sculptor. When it comes to my favorite part, it will definitely be the splendid and sumptuous festive dining table setting in the Dining room of the château, themed as “At Molière’s table”, where you will be able to discover the quintessential French aristocratic art of entertaining around a huge 5m long table, decorated with festive and joyful Christmas décor in red and gold, fully exudes the French style of celebrate back in the glory past with a modern interpretation of our time. Entering to the basement as the finale of the tour, you can see the presentation of the “Ambigu”, a dinner collation served during the famous soirée of 17th August 1661, to mark as a beautiful closure of the tour.



Lastly, don’t forget to take a look with the spectacular projection at the Salon’s wall and the dome, with the reinterpretation of the Ceremony of the Turks from the “Bourgeois Gentilhomme”, to the music of Lully, which takes you back to the 17th century festivities with a 360-degree visual experience!
