New season new look - Barberia e Sartoria Italiana new boutique, Hong Kong SAR

Dear readers, over the past few years, there are a large number of expats have left Hong Kong, including some of them that I know, whether they chose to go back to their home country for good, or somewhere in Asia such as Singapore or even Dubai for their career, one thing for certain is that they decided to start their new chapter of life somewhere else, having said that, some of them decided to come back after these few years, and one of them that I personally know, is the owner of an Italian bespoke tailoring boutique, Mr. Marcello Pignatelli of Dal Duca Sartoria Italiana, who recently reopened his new boutique, Barberia e Sartoria Italiana, back in town on the Hong Kong Island, with a brand-new concept with his barber friend, Marco. Taking advantage of the free time I had over the Lunar New Year holiday, I decided to make a quick visit to his new boutique, on one hand, to reunite with this tailoring boutique owner, on the other, to take a look at his new tailoring menswear collection as well as the new concept.

Located in the tranquil side of the Central district, this new Barberia e Sartoria Italiana boutique is situated right on the ground floor facing the main road that no one is going to miss, with the new concept of integrating the men’s grooming barber service at the inner part of the boutique, this new boutique maintains its quintessential Italian sartorial classicism, or be more specific, the sartorial excellence and sprezzatura chic that hails from Napoli, with a series of tailoring collection by Dal Duca Sartoria Italiana showcasing on the left side, and stacks of luxurious shirting displaying on the shelves on the right side.

Staying true to the brand’s fundamental philosophy – to express the appreciation over the Italian sartorial style, as well as celebrating the high quality materials and craftsmanship, this new space also brings in a flair of coastal chic (think about the luxury seaside resort chic at Amalfi coast or Positano) and the sprezzatura elegance, it’s stylish and approachable;

besides the brand’s signature Neapolitan tailoring pieces such as the impeccable unlined suits (which enables one to see how refined the craftmanship is) with matching trousers in super fine wool from 140s and higher, in a range of timelessly classic palette from navy to deep lake water blue, to the quiet-luxury palette such as ash grey to beige, one can also find a series of non-dressy clothing collection which is relatively suitable for weekends or off-duty looks, in particular, the luxurious safari jacket which reminiscent to the 70s ‘Saint-Laurent’ Rive Gauche chic, this new version looks much contemporary and stylish with a shorter torso and tailored fitting, made with luxurious fabric by Loro Piana, which makes it a great piece of menswear for the transitional season like now, either wearing with a comfortable and thick cashmere sweater underneath with a pair of extra fine corduroy trousers in neutral palette, and a pair of beige suede yacht loafer as the finishing touch, or a pima cotton polo shirt with a pair of linen shorts for the hot summer season later this year, this new safari jacket is unquestionably a versatile piece in a men’s wardrobe, especially for the new season.

While indulging yourself in this Italian tailoring menswear new space with all these exquisite refined menswear pieces, don’t forget to pamper yourself with the one-of-the-kind in-boutique barber service managed by the specialist, Marco, who is formerly from the Mandarin Barber of the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, freshen up yourself not only with a new wardrobe, but also a new look for your face too!

To experience the most impeccable dressing and grooming service, it will be highly recommended to book your appointment in advance.
