Quiet-luxury palette in timepiece – new colors for ‘Belvedere’, Carl Suchy & Söhne, Vienna
Dear readers, we are slowly stepping into the Fall season now, while the weather might not be that cool at this point, swapping our wardrobe to the new season is simply a routine for most of us. For the beginning of the Fall season, I somehow keep thinking about the ‘quiet luxury’ and ‘stealth wealth’ color palette: the warm and soothing natural colors ranging from peanut butter beige to biscotti khahi, to something deeper from caramel brown to reddish rust, appears in different patterns such as herringbones, classic English checks, or even plain-colored ones in sumptuous fabrics of one’s tailoring clothing, it instantly intensifies the mood of autumn whilst retaining certain countryside classic menswear elegance with these beautiful palette. Now we have the clothes, but what about matching accessories, such as a piece of exquisite timepiece for instance? Is there any good options out there that can compliment with the Fall season ‘quiet luxury’ palette seamlessly? I recently have an eye on the stunning new colors of the luxury timepiece from the ‘Belvedere’ series by Viennese luxury watchmaker, Carl Suchy & Söhne, their two brand new colors had recently unveiled in Geneva, with the luxurious and modern design, the heritage of this Viennese watchmaking house, and these beautiful new colors, which undoubtedly fit into the ‘quiet luxury’ palette wardrobe in this coming season.
The new launch consisted of two colors – Champagne and Bordeaux, both colors make one to think of one of the luxury indulgence and savoir-faire of French art and culture – the French fine wine. While one resembling the luxurious glitter, having a filled champagne flute at hand under the bright sparkling crystal chandelier while appreciating the gilded interior details inside the grand palace, the other exudes the grandeur and opulence during the festive days, the soft and luxurious red velvet fabric, the deep ruby-red carpet inside a grand mansion, the fabulous evening soirée with the background in the elegant melody of the Viennese Waltz music, follow by a sumptuous dinner and fine wine, the new color of the ‘Belvedere’ timepiece offers one a stylish matching option from day to night.
In terms of the mechanic and function, it’s basically the same as the rest of the ‘Belvedere’ models which I have previously blogged about it, such as the automatic CSS201 movement based on Dubois Dépraz, made with 21 jewels with 42-hour power reserve; the sleek case is made with 316L pearl-blasted stainless steel in diameter of 40.8mm, topped with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Of course, one of the noteworthy feature is the unique date display, which the inner dial rotates according to date changes, not only it guarantees excellent legibility, but also creates a vibrancy on the dial. Another feature is the golden rotor, which embellished with a finely micro-engraved façade of the Belvedere Palace, making this luxury timepiece as a precious work of art that homage to the glorious Viennese art and imperial splendor.
While it’s difficult to tear in between these two new colors as both are equally sumptuous and stylish, one thing for sure is that they both are going to fit into the ‘quiet luxury’ palette without a doubt going into the Fall season even up to the festive December along with your Fall Winter wardrobe. Afterall, Shiv Roy’s ‘quiet luxury’ style not only still relevant and apply to this coming Fall Winter, it also applies to a fine gentleman’s wardrobe and accessories too!
