Yachting in style – Sanlorenzo SL90 Asymmetric
Dear readers, celebrations are almost everywhere throughout the past months, especially before Christmas and right after the New Year, not only because of the festivity but also surrounded by fabulous people that show their finery, yet, which celebration event did you find the most memorable? For me, I have one in my mind which it’s not only about festive season, but it also related to one of my favorite aesthetic – luxury yachting style, it was the cocktail party that celebrates the Hong Kong luxury yacht company, Simpson Marine, of their 40th anniversary, coinciding with the annual Hong Kong International Boat Show 2024, which took place back in late November 2024.
During that boat show in Nov, this luxury yacht company has showcased numerous luxury yachts for their esteemed guests, among them, two luxury yachts became the highlight of the show, which were the SL86 and SL90A(symmetric) from the Italian luxury yacht brand, Sanlorenzo, and that is where the luxury yacht company’s 40th anniversary cocktail was held! The event was filled with joy and luxury lifestyle elements, featuring some of the most luxurious fashion and lifestyle products including women’s fashion and accessories by Ferragamo, premium French fragrances by Guerlain, the luxurious Italian bed and linens collection by Frette, and so on, which enriches the luxury lifestyle experience on top of the celebration that day. For some reason, there is some unspeakable allure and mystery about the luxury yacht Sanlorenzo SL90A that keeps me turning my head back at it, perhaps it’s the handsome and sleek exterior, or the enchanting song performed by the female artist on that yacht’s back deck, either way, I decided to take a closer look, and discover the mystique beauty of this luxury yacht.
Upon boarding from the back deck of this 27.6m-long yacht and walking up to the main salon, I was instantly appealed by its spaciousness and modernity, the luxurious and chic silver-greyish interior with the soft sand-dune color wooden flooring, furnished with the long sofa in luxurious steel grey color fabric and white oval shape marble coffee table on one side, while a sleek and minimalistic rectangular dining table and chair set on the other, with the high ceiling and high visibility of the window on both side of the yacht, which makes the main salon very spacious and comfortable, adding the juxtaposition of the cozy warm wood tone, and the metallic chrome elements for the interior that drew references from the luxe glamour of 1920s however in a contemporary interpretation, the interior literally makes one feel like being in a chic and luxurious lounge inside a world-class 5-star hotel.
The master cabin is located on the main deck, which provides a unique and expansive feel, going down to the lower deck where the three guest cabins are located, the interior is just as elegant and qualitative as the main salon, all equipped with their own bathroom, each of them is intelligently designed to optimize its usage space and comfortability, furnished with the most luxurious and modern furniture and cabinets. One of the most unique features inside the SL90A yacht is the wheelhouse, a very special design located in the open staircase between the main deck and upper deck, not only it offered much privacy and space on the main deck, this smart design also enables the captain to be able to view through the interior in a very unique angle, and a much dedicate space for him to focus on operating the yacht safely without too much distraction from the surrounding.
For those who enjoy a more outdoorsy atmosphere when sailing, then the flybridge of this luxury yacht will be the place that you want to be! One will be instantly appealed by its spaciousness and stylish atmosphere, with its intelligent and modern Italian design, it is divided into three parts, with the wheelhouse and large seat starboard as one part, the galley L-shaped bar with a large table, where guests can use it for preparing meal or cocktail, and a U-shaped seat in the middle, and the spacious lounging area at the back, which it is suitable for either a much private and cozy business or family gathering for a small group, also undoubtedly, this would be an ideal spot for those who enjoy the sunlight and sea breeze, and connecting with the nature while sailing comfortably under the clear blue sky soaking in a jacuzzi.
